THELMA & THE SLEAZE
Thelma and The Sleaze announces their return, continuing their growth in the studio with, Fuck, Marry, Kill. The forthcoming record is a follow-up to the 2017 album Somebody’s Doin’ Something and is set to be released on August 9, 2019
In preparation for the release, the single and video for Pain was released on July 5, 2019. Thelma and The Sleaze is currently touring the northeast and midwest. This tour places their 2019 show count well above 60, including High Water Fest alongside Leon Bridges and Shovels and Rope.
In the midst of touring, Thelma and The Sleaze was able to track and self-produce the record with engineering assistance by Loney Hutchins in Nashville. It also sees the return of some previous band members to help track some of the instruments, mixing old and new line-ups. For mixing and mastering, they turned to Jim Kissling in Detroit, MI (King Tuff, Ex Hex, The Go) to help complete their vision.
Fuck, Marry, Kill is composed of 11 tracks that range from heavier tracks like the lead single Pain, to songs inspired by 80’s rock on One Million Kisses and May Beth Fuck, Marry, Kill perfectly encapsulates the core of the band. Common topics of their songs and as LG states, “everyone who meets me wants to do one of those things”. The songs on this album can also be categorized in a similar fashion. Ranging from heavy guitar, to saxophone driven, to 50’s rock and roll inspired.
Their first release with The What of Whom, owner Kim Hill, Jr is focused on the success of the project. “LG is one of the most inspiring artists I’ve come across. She works so hard and has a very clear vision of what she wants. I support that vision 100% and will do whatever I can to help her be successful.”
Thelma and The Sleaze is based out of Nashville and has gone through some evolution over the years, but always lead by LG. They have toured consistently for the last 5 years, playing with acts like Eagles of Death Metal, The Coathangers, Birdcloud, Burmuda Triangle, and Charles Bradley. Thelma and The Sleaze is a “…blend of post-riot-grrrl punk and self-aware “trashy” Southern rock…blending an explicitly feminist and queer sensibility into music that’s historically been associated with brawny biker dudes.”

NIKO NOBODY

Despite the revealing nature of his lyrics, very little is known about the Mobile, AL based songwriter, Niko Nobody. Sure, he has great hair, but where did he come from? Some place? Probably. What does he want? Something? Seemingly. What is he doing now? Recording his debut solo album? Yes, actually.

With a knack for melody, you’ll be cursing his name as his songs maintain a permanent residence in your little brain. Niko’s tunes cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from love and sex, to love AND sex.

So, who is he really? Quite possibly the only Nobody that you’ll ever remember.
